Our Fertility Centre has streamlined the process for diagnosing infertility
to help
couples better understand their condition and treatment options.
We conduct a
quick, comfortable diagnosis that identifies the possible
cause of infertility. Once
the cause has been determined, we begin
designing a personalized treatment plan
that is best suited for a couple's
individual needs to ensure the highest chances for
success.

Laparoscopy:
Examination of the pelvic region by using a small telescope called a laparoscope.
The procedure is done with local anaesthetic and takes approximately 15 minutes.
This procedure is important when diagnosing infertility caused by endometriosis or
tubal disease.
Hysteroscopy:
A visual examination of the uterine cavity using a small telescope called a
hysteroscope. The procedure is done without any form of anaesthetic and
takes only 5 minutes. It is usually performed to examine possible causes for
unsuccessful embryo implantation.
Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy are procedures that can be done at the same
visit at our clinic.

Ultrasound scan are usually sufficient in order to investigate the uterus. However,
it is common to perform hysteroscopy if you have had 3 or more IVF attempts with
negative outcome. There might be polyps situated in the uterus, which are difficult
to see with ultrasound. Hysteroscopy might also reveal myomas in the uterus.
Polyps and myomas will then be removed before the next IVF attempt.
